The Ultimate Vampire Resource and Directory

Today was my uncle Joe's funeral. He had been sick for about the last year or so. He had cancer, and went through the radiation and chemo. He had been doing good the last month. But he could no longer fight. he was tired and had lost a lot of weight. I thought back to when I was little, and going around their family. I remember a gruff man who came to my formal wedding in blue jeans, white T shirt and a pack of lucky strikes rolled up

in the sleeve, and a can of Hudepohl beer in his hand.



He kinda stood out but that was him. He loved to go fishing up in Lake Michigan and Lake Erie and always brought back his catches and would give them to the family, already to fry up. He served in the Sea Bees, part of the Navy. I loved his tattoo of an American Eagle on his arm that he got while drunk on shore leave.



I saw him cry once, When my cousin Donald, his son came back from Germany, after being stationed there. Before that Donald served in Honduras and El Salvador. He was a devoted grandfather and as a father He could have done better but with his grandchildren he did the things he never got to do with his children. Janet, Donald and Danny Joe, or to the rest of us we called him DJ.



I didnt go to the burial, But went to the wake afterwards. Smiles, always like a family reunion at a funeral. I see my cousins, aunts and uncle mike on a regular basis but its nice to reconnect and to remember all the funny stuff we did as kids. To watch my mom and her two sisters and Joe a while back, age seemed to drop off as it does when a family gets together. I could see how they were as teenagers, One bossy, one a follower and Joe was the protector of his younger sisters. Mom was closer to him than Aunt Ruth or Aunt Geneva.



As we Pause today to remember what Samhain is, remember those who have passed on. Set a place for them at your table and welcome their spirts home. Light a candle. As Samhain is also our witches new year.. Happy Samhain

Got in around seven thirty last night. But had to wait til my neighbor got home to get my house key only to find she did leave it but not in the urn, she left it under the urn. rolls eyes. a half hour later I finally made it inside. The cats have followed me from room to room and Angel tries to get more closer. I dont think she can lol. Zeus give me that accusing stare, like how could i leave him? and mickey follows me from room to room. Miss Emma just meowed her welcome home, and promptly went back to sleep.



The trip was so wonderful and took tons of pics of everyone. I miss everyone already. I did have one mishap on the road trip. But was told that was ok. thats what makes a road trip more fun when something unexpected ( or in my case expected lol)happens.



I picked up my new glasses today. Paid the bills. and now set to just relax. I cant count how many time zones i went through. Major jet lag i guess

But im sure i will recover.

Tomorrow morning at five, I wil be going home to Ohio. I have been gone three weeks. I love the weather out here in San Diego. But its time to go home. I have enjoyed this trip than you could ever imagene. After the rough two years ive had. I really needed it. Aaron and Jess have been wonderful hosts. and I thank them from the bottom of my heart for their generosity for opening up their home to me and making me feel right at home.



The trip out to Kansas City was totally awesome. Angel and Onxy were totally awesome. I got to meet my extended family there and loved the ren fair that we went to.. was cold but the trip was wonderful. we drove from San Diego to Kansas City. I loved the desert states. I actually got to go to the luxor casino in vegas. only one I wanted to go to.. we went to other casinos and it was fun. the pinball hall of fame was awesome.



I cant wait til next summer!

Tomorrow morning we hit the road to kansas City for the sk and mh meetup. Kwik has been busy burning music cd's for the trip. we are going to be heading for las vegas and spending the night probably on the california/nevada line.



Im so glad I made the trip. Ive never been out

on this side of the country and seeing things ive only read about or seen on tv. wolf wiccan and I have been playing on the playstation playing the pinball games and just enjoying the weather. I called home to hear its cold and rainy and just had to tease my mother on how nice and warm its been, i leave here on the eighteenth and go home. kinda miss home a little but i be there soon enough.

I finally made it to cali. The weather is gorgeous, the mountains are awesome. I cant help but smile since ive been, here. I even enjoyed the flight. This vacation I needed in the worst way. And its turned out wonderfully. went to a national monument and it looked out over the bay of san diego. went to the pachanga indian reservation, to a casino there. won sixty two dollars on the first spin of the slot machine.



Kwiksilver and wolf wiccan have been wonderful to open up their home to me and have been the best hosts. We leave wednesday morning for kansas city for the sk and mh meet up. Cant wait to see Angel and the rest of her clan. I talked to her the night before on the phone and am really looking forward to the trip. going to be a road trip. I have my camera and have taken loads of pictures. i will put them up in my port to share. I also met soul twister from sk and hes a very very nice man. he made me a few gifts to take back to add to my Mistress collection... but taking them first to the meet up. Im checking in here at the rave when i can and on yahoo.
